Intelligent Transportation (ITS) addresses the issues of road traffic, including operation, monitoring, statistics, tracking and notification for the purpose of improving using productivity, road traffic, traffic accidents and traffic jams. ITS uses the advances of information and communication technology to link people, road systems and traffic means on the road into an information and communications network for optimized movement on national road.
Intelligent Transportation consists of multiple components that are closely linked to ensure that the transport system meets the following objectives:
- Help to improve road infrastructure and emergency handling of traffic incidents.
- Modernize toll booths, CCTV systems, weighing stations and operation centers.
- Reduce accidents, traffic congestion and reduce environmental pollution.
- Save time, money and fuel, create maximum convenience for traveling and transporting goods.
- Manage the main traffic route, regulate the travel of vehicles on the road by Variable Message Signs (VMS).
- Create information systems for traffic participants, popularize traffic culture and support the exploitation process, ensure the smooth operation and controlling of road traffic.
